Keeping memory alive
The non-profit association Bevrijding van de Schelde and its partner organizations want to ensure that the fierce struggle and immense sacrifices of the young men and women who fought between 1944 and 1945 during the liberation of Western France, and the entire southwest to northwest of Belgium and large parts of the Netherlands, are never forgotten.
Paying tribute to war heroes
These war heroes must be honoured, and their courage, determination and sacrifice remembered. They gave us back our freedom, often at the cost of their own lives.
